AEPA Library/Educational Media Exam

The Library/Educational Media test measures your knowledge according to the Arizona Academic Standards. Success on the test indicates that you are qualified to teach this subject in Arizona public schools. The test content is drawn from four subareas based on AEPA learning objectives: the Library Media Program (27% of the test); Information Literacy Skills and Strategies (23%); Curriculum and Resources (23%); and Program Administration and Leadership (27%). The test covers basics of library media programs, such as their relation to total school programs, types and applications of information resources (e.g., literature for children and young adults), and information literacy skills and strategies (such as methods for locating and evaluating information). The test also includes content on promoting, designing, and producing curriculum-integrated instructional materials. In addition, test-takers should know the professional responsibilities of library media specialists and resources for professional development. Finally, the test covers program management, development, implementation, and evaluation.
