AEPA Art Exam

The Art test measures your knowledge according to the Arizona Academic Standards. Success on the test indicates that you are qualified to teach art in Arizona public schools. The Art test consists of three sections based on AEPA learning objectives: Creating Art (35% of the test), Art in Context (45%), and Art as Inquiry (20%). The test covers broad knowledge of art (such as the elements of art and principles of design), as well as knowledge of specific arts, such as of the tools, materials, methods, and technologies of fine arts, communication arts, folk arts, and others. In addition, the test covers world art in historical, geographical, and cultural contexts. Test-takers should also be aware of art as communication and its relation to other disciplines, how to interpret art, the diversity of perspectives toward art, and career choices in visual art.
